Let’s count: Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Aaron and Sun, right?
The Lost creators like to throw curve balls. The question hinges on whether Aaron counts? He wouldn’t have been on the passenger manifest. And we know how media tends to forget children. Some have even speculated that either Juliette or Ben might pose as one of the other passengers, though I find this unlikely in Ben’s case. In Sayid’s flashforward, it’s clear that Ben is trying to send his enemies a message. I think he’d be giving away too much of his hand, not to mention be making himself a target, by showing up as a celebrated faux survivor.
Now is Jinn dead? The Lost writers left this vague, which seems promising for Jinn. Pros for his death include the fact that Sun went to a grave and the fact of Daniel Dae Kim’s October 2007 DUI. The Tailies were all killed off shortly after DUI arrests. Only sober Bernard remains. Cons include the fact that nobody ever says he’s dead but instead just say things like “I miss Jinn.” BTW, the death date on the grave marker was the day of the crash.
In any case, somebody dies next episode.
